It's another Weekly Truth from the She Reads Truth community.
I have decided not to join in reading the plans anymore.
Wait! But before you get angry and leave my blog, let me explain. :D
Do you ever feel like you are doing something just to get the job done?
Well, that's what I felt when we started reading Proverbs.
I couldn't keep up with the reading of the girls from the community.
At first, I was like, I'll just cram and do many readings at once so I can "keep up" with the girls.
I feel happy on the outside but I felt like I'm not getting anything out of it.
I'm doing the devotional just so I can use #shereadstruth in Intsagram.
I'm just reading it just to check that little tiny circle in the YouVersion app.
I'm reading just so I can say something in the comments.
and believe me, its hard to comment when you really don't understand what the passage meant.
And so I'll just won't comment at all.
Then we started reading Galatians.
And the words of Paul on the first day of the reading never left my mind.
For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man?
If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10
When I searched my heart on what my motivation is, I realized that I just wanted to please the girls.
I didn't realize it not until I prayed hard and asked God to tell me what am I doing wrong.
Why am I not keeping up with the girls?
Then God revealed to me that the motive of my heart was wrong in the first place.
And with lots of prayers, I came to a decision.
I will not join the community's reading plans anymore.
I will still visit the website.
Well, the idea of the group is to read His word everyday right?
So I can still be part of the community just as long as I am reading the Bible everyday. :)
this time WHOLEHEARTEDLY!
I will still share how God is changing me through reading His word on She Shares.
and I will still join the Weekly Truth {and continue making lock screens}.
I will still be instagraming {if that is a word}.
With God's guidance, I will read the Bible on my own pace everyday.
He actually put in my heart to start my reading on Paul's epistles.
No matter how many times I fail in reading His word everyday, I won't give up!
and here is a lock screen for this week's Weekly Truth.
The verse is from Galatians 6:9-10.
feel free to grab it!
I hope God is pleased with it. :)
i know i am ''late'' in commenting. thank you so much for this blog post i needed to hear it as well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, the Word will always go forth. God said "His Word would not return to Him void".It is not how, but that we Do!
